About LynCare

Who builds this app, why it exists, and how to reach a real person.

What is the app?

LynCare is a care-coordination app for self-directed care — the Medicaid programs where a participant, or a family member acting on their behalf, hires and manages their own caregivers instead of going through an agency. It runs on iPhone and Android, and it covers the day-to-day work of actually running a care circle.

Medications

A full eMAR for scheduled doses, plus PRN tracking with dose windows and daily maximums. Declines are logged with a reason.

Shifts

One tap in, one tap out. Each shift record reviews the meds given and tasks done, and carries a handoff note to the next caregiver.

Daily notes

A running journal with severity levels for health concerns, and a visibility tier on every note so it reaches only who you meant.

Tasks & routines

Daily living activities and weekly tasks, with clear assignment and a record of what was done — or why it was skipped.

Shared calendar

Appointments and events for the whole circle, with Google Calendar sync in the participant's own time zone.

Record exports

Clean PDF or CSV exports of medications, health events, notes, and shifts — for a reassessment, an audit, or the doctor's office.

Who builds it?

I'm Kevin, and this is my vision. I have loved programming since an early age — games, MySpace pages, whatever I could build. I took classes in high school, and for my Eagle Project I coordinated and built a website for the fire department. Since then it has been small side projects: simple games, and an app I built in college for a teacher's class.

Since as early as 2018 I have had a desire to improve the way this program runs. It has always been my opinion that people deserve to live their life, and not have to worry about the minutiae of paperwork, or running a business that addresses their own care or the care of their family. The family members these responsibilities fall upon can feel overwhelmed at the task at hand. It is stressful.

My job as the only employee in LynCare, LLC? I build the designs, write the code, answer the support email, write these pages, and decide what gets built next. There is no team, no investors, no parent company or subsidiaries, no agency that spun this out. LynCare is bootstrapped, which means it moves at the speed one person can move. What I am working on next is public on the roadmap.

Not everything is sunshine and rainbows, though. When doing market research for this app, I realized that this market is a graveyard where apps go to die. There is very little money here. I didn't stop building, though — there is a need for this. So I put the financial burden on myself until I could figure out a way to monetize it that is ethical.

Why it exists?

Not to get into too many details, but I have lived my life in the shadow of giants — my mother, my father, and my sister. I have watched my parents sacrifice for their family. I have watched the hardships they have endured for us, for my sister. I have watched the hardships and discrimination my sister has endured — from systems that were meant to help, and from people who should have known better.

I have seen how easily the people these programs exist for become an afterthought inside them. Families are asked to carry more than anyone should have to, and too rarely does anyone ask whether it is actually working for them. I can't solve all the problems — I'm just one person. I can, however, try to make using these services easier.

What it costs

Right now, nothing. LynCare is free during early access. I would rather say it that way than dress it up as a forever promise: I have not taken outside money, so at some point the app has to cover what it costs to run. When early access ends, existing care circles will get clear advance notice before anything changes, and your circle's records are always yours to export from inside the app. The short version is on the support page.

Whether LynCare can be paid for out of a participant's budget is not a question I can answer. That call belongs to your support broker, case manager, or fiscal agent.

Privacy as a feature

LynCare handles real medical information about real people. That means privacy cannot be a settings screen you go and switch on — it has to be how the thing is built in the first place. Here is what that means in practice, rather than as a slogan.

Every note has an audience

Each daily note is set to one of three visibility tiers — the whole circle, admin only, or the Care Manager only. A private observation goes only where you meant it to go.

Lock screens say nothing

Notifications on a lock screen, watch, or accessibility surface show only a category — never a medication name, a health detail, or who said what. A phone face-up on the counter does not announce anything to the room.

Sensitive doses need approval

Medications you mark sensitive can be set to require Admin approval before every single dose, so the people who should be in that loop always are.

Records outlast the people

Care records are preserved to medical-record standards, so a participant's history stays intact even as caregivers come and go. The account deletion page spells out exactly what is kept and what is removed.

Your data is yours

You can export your circle's records from inside the app at any time, and delete your account from Settings. You do not have to ask my permission to leave with your own information.

Written rights, not vibes

Washington, Nevada, and Connecticut residents have specific consumer health data rights, so LynCare publishes a separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy setting out what is collected, who it reaches, and how to exercise those rights.

There are no ads, no analytics, and no data selling — and I mean that about this website as well as the app. The app ships with no ad network and no analytics SDK, and lyncare.net runs no tracking pixels, no tag manager, and no third-party beacons. The data in your circle is used to run your circle and nothing else. Your care records are not a product I sell.
