What's new in each LynCare release. We ship often and keep the notes in plain language.

v1.7.0LatestAugust 29, 2026
  • As-needed medications can be limited by amount over time — “up to 4 tablets in 6 hours” instead of one dose every 6 hours, with an optional second limit such as 8 per 24 hours. Give 1 tablet of an allowed 4 and 2 more half an hour later, and the app reads it as 3 of 4 — not as two separate rule-breaks. Existing medications keep working exactly as before; switching one over is optional, and the app explains what changes before anything is saved.
  • See why a dose was given — tap any as-needed medication card to see the doses in the current stretch: the amount, the time, who gave it, and the reason typed at the time. The reason was always recorded; it just had nowhere to be seen.
  • Long notifications can be read in full — an override request with a detailed reason used to get cut off after three lines, before you approved or denied it. Anything that runs long now has a Read more link.
  • The Break Room word lock celebrates when you crack it — falling petals and a panel showing the lock you beat, whether you did it without losing a heart, and your streak.

  • Sign in with Google now works on iPhone and iPad — tapping Sign in with Google used to close the app instantly, with no account picker and nothing on screen to explain it. Anyone who created their account with Google and then installed LynCare on an iPhone or iPad had no way in at all. Android was never affected.
  • Sign-in errors say what actually went wrong — any problem the app didn’t specifically recognise used to read “Invalid email or password,” sending people off to reset a password that was never the problem. Unexpected failures now show a short code you can quote to support.
  • Signing in with Google or Apple checks your email like a password does — all three sign-in methods now handle an unverified email the same way. Nothing changes if yours is already verified.
  • Inviting a Care Manager no longer requires their email — take the code and share it however you like. Adding an email still works, and still limits that code to that address.

  • Meet Break Room — two games to take your mind off the day and give you a break: a daily picture puzzle, and Letter Lock, a combination lock made of letters — turn the barrels to spell every word they can make and the lock cracks open. Nothing is timed, casual play stays entirely on your device, progress saves as you go, and there's an optional circle leaderboard if your circle wants a friendly game of it.
  • Wrapped — your month in care — a private, swipeable look back at last month: days you showed up, hours given, doses assisted with, notes written, and your Break Room play. Assembled on your device from records you can already see — nothing new is collected or sent anywhere, and caregivers see their own month, never the circle's totals. Both are in the ⋮ menu at the top right.
  • Care recorded during a very long shift no longer goes missing — a caregiver clocked in for more than 36 hours could see a medication in the log while its entry was missing from that day's Daily Notes and exports. Every record now lands where it belongs, however long the shift runs.
  • Notification taps land in the right place — tapping a notification while the app was fully closed now reliably opens the medication, note, or shift it's about.
  • Duplicate medication reminders stop — when another caregiver records a dose, the reminder stops ringing on your device too.

  • Password managers now work at sign-in — iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, 1Password and others can fill your saved LynCare login and offer to save a new one.
  • Stronger protection against password guessing — after several failed attempts, sign-in pauses briefly and offers a one-tap password reset, and a rate-limited sign-in now says so instead of showing "wrong password."
  • Account recovery for Apple sign-ins with no email — if Apple didn't share an email, you can add one so you're able to recover your account and reset your PIN.
  • A simpler way to start a care circle — a guided, step-by-step setup, and you can invite the participant into the app any time after the circle is created.
  • Fixes & polish — Participant-Care Managers can open Manage Shift Schedule, a note on the calendar explains its sync window, an interrupted sign-up can be finished with one tap, and error messages are clearer.

  • Medication reminders — when you're clocked in, LynCare now rings you at each scheduled medication time with a full-screen reminder of the medications due, so a dose isn't missed or left unrecorded. Snooze it for 10 minutes or stop once it's logged; it keeps reminding — even with the app closed — until the dose is recorded, and only rings while you're on shift. Turn it on or off in Settings → Notifications.

  • Actions that used to fail silently now tell you — sending a password-reset or verification email, revoking an invite, leaving a care circle, saving or deleting a calendar event, tapping "I Need Help," and approving a Care-Manager takeover now show an error if they don't go through, instead of falsely reporting success.
  • Safer medications — prevented a duplicate dose from a double-tap or a two-person hand-off, override approvals now ask you to confirm first, and as-needed "given today" counts use the participant's timezone.
  • Fewer crashes — fixed a crash computing avatar initials on unusual names, plus several "closed the screen mid-action" edge cases (calendar edits, transfers, overrides).
  • Polish — text fields now auto-capitalize as you type, Client Info always reflects the current circle, shift history reports load errors instead of spinning, and background data listeners are leaner.

  • Shared tablets no longer get stuck signing you out — on a kiosk tablet the app could trap you in a loop, logging you out every time the screen woke and making you re-enter your PIN and re-pick your shift over and over. Signing in with your PIN now keeps you signed in as expected. Personal phones were never affected.

  • Face ID and fingerprint unlock no longer sign you out — a cancelled, failed, or unavailable unlock now just offers "try again" or "Sign in with password" instead of logging you out, and the prompt only appears when you return to the app, not while leaving it.
  • Shared tablets are easier to sign in to — you can get back to the list of names after choosing "Sign in another way," and "Forgot PIN? Reset it" works again on the lock screen.
  • More helpful bug reports — opting to include diagnostics now captures a fuller, still-anonymous picture of your device and app state, with no names, emails, or care records.

  • Restricted notes and team messages are protected on the server, not just hidden in the app — private content lives in a separate, access-controlled record.

  • Accurate "missed" doses — a scheduled dose is marked missed only when it genuinely is, in the participant's own time zone; the app and the server now agree exactly.
  • No more stacked-up override requests, and a dose can't be double-recorded by a duplicate tap or two managers at once.
  • The medication record is enforced on the server — only an Admin can approve an early dose, and every dose is recorded under whoever gave it.
